YOU ARE CORDIALLY INVITED TO APPLY…
to participate in the 23rd Wyoming Art Show –
Cincinnati’s premiere juried art show and sale held on the tree-lined streets of Wyoming, Ohio.

for complete details on acceptable entries, jury process, entry fees,
important dates/deadlines, show and booth information, and competition specifications.
Jury Process:
To be considered for the 2008 Wyoming Art Show, artists must submit three (3) 35mm color slides of their work for jurying.
[Only artists who participated in the 2006 show are exempt from jurying.]
Artists must send slides, entry form, and appropriate entry fee postmarked no later than March 3, 2008 to:

Slides should be of professional quality. Please mark each slide with:
artist's name, category, top of work, plus dimensions of work. Slides are identified to the judges by number only. All decisions will be based on the representation of the works in the slides submitted, so high quality photography is recommended. The judges’ decisions are final and confidential.
Artists shooting digital images of their work can have their files transferred to slides using a slide service such as www.slideservice.com, www.colorslides.com, www.slides.com .
Notification of the jurors' decision will be mailed by March 17. Applicant's entry fee will be returned if not accepted.
IMPORTANT CALENDAR DATES:
March 3: Postmarked slides/entries. Entries postmarked after March 3 will be returned unopened.
March 17: Notices mailed
May 17: Optional delivery of competition art to Wyoming Civic Center 9:00-1:00
May 18: Date of Show, 11:00 to 5:00.
Competition entries MUST be delivered to the Civic Center by 9:30 to be considered for awards.
5:45pm: Artists' reception and awards presentation
  ALL WORK MUST BE OF THE ARTISTS' OWN CREATION.
 No manufactured or commercially made or assembled items will be permitted in the show.
 
CATEGORIES:
1. Painting or drawing on a two-dimensional surface: Oil, Acrylic, Watercolor, Pastel, Charcoal, Graphite, Colored Pencil
 2. Graphics, Photography, Printmaking, Mixed Media: Painting on objects, Collage/Assemblages
 3. Ceramics, (hand built or wheel thrown), Metal, Sculpture, Wood
 4. Fiber (includes handmade paper), Glass, Jewelry (hand crafted with minimal purchased components)
IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR ARTISTS
ONE artist only per space. Each applicant may exhibit and compete in ONLY ONE category per entry fee.
Artists may choose to compete, to sell, or both.
Selling space only is provided; artists must provide their own outside display booth. Outside selling space is assigned by the committee.
All slides will be returned and all artists will receive confirmation notices.
Please make checks payable to Wyoming Art Show. Applicant’s entry fee will be returned if work is not accepted.
Entries must be postmarked no later than March 3, 2008, or they will be returned unopened.

ENTRY FEES
$45       ONE competition entry only. NO selling space.  
$55       TWO competition entries only. NO selling space.           
$60       ONE competition entry AND 15 feet of outside selling space.
$70       TWO competition entries AND 15 feet of outside selling space.
 
ARTIST’S RESPONSIBILITIES:
·        Each artist is responsible for:
·        Setting up and dismantling display.
·        Being ready at the appropriate time for judging.
·        Maintaining and staffing own booth. Representatives may not attend in place of the artist.
·        All sales transactions.
·        Payment of all sales taxes.
 
COMPETITION REQUIREMENTS:
·        To qualify for judging, all art work for the competition must be inside the Civic Center, 1 Worthington Ave., no later than 9:30 a.m. Sunday, May 18. 
·        Early dropoff time is offered on Saturday, May 17, 9 a.m. – 1 p.m.
·        Accepted work for competition must be ready for display.
·        Two-dimensional work must be framed and wired for hanging.
·        If the artist’s entry exceeds 36" in any direction or is not suitable for table display, the artist must provide their own support, display fixture or easel. Every effort will be made to promote and advertise the show and encourage sales.
·        No commission is charged; however, neither is the Wyoming Art Show authorized to transact any sales. Artists wishing to sell competition entries must handle the transactions themselves.
·        All reasonable precautions will be taken for the safety of the artists’ work.
·        All insurance for the Wyoming Art Show is the responsibility of the artist prior to, during and after the show.
·        Submission of application implies agreement to these conditions.
